Tired of your favorite playlist and need a new one right away? Creating a playlist takes only a few minutes and can be done directly on your iPhone or iPad. Once you have your new playlist, you then can customize it for the best listening experience.

Create a playlist

Creating a playlist starts with the iOS Music app, which is the conduit to your iTunes music library on your iPhone or iPad. Just open the Music app and begin creating the playlist as detailed below:

  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Tap the Playlist tab at the bottom of the app to access all your playlist details.
  3. Tap “New Playlist”.
  4. Enter a name for your new playlist.
  5. Select “Save” to store your playlist.
  6. Browse through your existing playlists or music library to add songs.
  7. Add a song by tapping on the “+” next to the track name.
  8. Continue adding songs by browsing through your music library and selecting “+” to add new tracks.
  9. When you are done adding new tracks, select “Done” in the upper right corner.

Customize the playlist

Once you’ve created your playlist, you can customize it by changing the listening order of the songs or by deleting songs you no longer want. Just open the playlist, tap Edit and then use the reorder icon on the right to drag the songs into their preferred order. In this editing screen, you also can easily delete a song by tapping the red circle on the left. When you are done editing, simply tap the “Done” button in the top center of the screen. For convenience, you also can delete songs when viewing a playlist — just swipe from right to left to reveal the Delete option.

Listen to the playlist

To listen to a playlist, open the iOS Music app and tap the playlist tab to view all of your available playlists. Tap a playlist to select it and then tap on a track to begin listening.
