ATT M Settlement

• Obtain more information in regards to the class action lawsuit entitled In Re: AT&T Mobility Wireless Data Services Sales Tax Litigation which is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois

The ATT M settlement revolves around the way AT&T charged certain mobile customers in the form of taxes, fees and surcharges on internet access through certain services.  AT&T denied all allegations of wrong doing but has agreed to settle to avoid a no hold bars death match in court.  Class members in the case that AT&T violated Internet Tax Freedom Act, 47 U.S.C. § 151 and a variety of other state laws.  Unlike most class action lawsuit class members in the ATT M Settlement will not have to file a claim in order to received benefits.  Any questions however about the case can be directed to:

Please note…

• Vendor’s compensation is the amount of money AT&T Mobility was allowed to retain from the sales tax it collected as compensation for collecting the taxes for some (but not all) taxing jurisdictions
• AT&T Mobility is not admitting any liability or that it did anything wrong by providing settlement payments
• AT&T Mobility will stop collecting the taxes it has been collecting and paying to states, counties and cities. AT&T Mobility will not collect the tax again unless the applicable laws of the United States or a state change or such laws are interpreted to require or permit AT&T Mobility to begin collecting the taxes again

Those class members who qualify and have provided an updated mailing address to the Settlement Administrator, should will receive a refund check.  Class members will have 180 days to cash the check before it becomes void.
