Using Multiple Signatures and Images with the iOS Mail App

Signatures are handy for adding information to the end of an email. Not only do they provide valuable contact details, they also can be used as a promotional tool to direct people to your website or social profile. Many people use a single email with a unique signature, but what if you have multiple emails and you use them for different purposes such as personal and business? If you an iPhone or iPad use, you can configure the iOS Mail app to use two different signatures so you can segregate your signature information and personalize it for each account. Read on find out how you can setup Mail on your iOS device and enter multiple signatures, including those with an image.

Configure iOS with Multiple Signatures

The ability to use multiple email signatures is available on any iOS device running iOS 6 or higher. All the setup is completed within the settings as follows:

  1. Open Settings then select “Mail, Contacts, Calenders.”
  2. Scroll down to the Mail section
  3. Tap on the option for Signature.
  4. Tap on “Per Account” so you can to add an email signature for each email account. You’ll also see a setting for “All Accounts:” Use this option only if you want one signature for all email account.
  5. Once you have selected “Per Account”, you can create and edit signatures separately for each email account.

Once the signatures have been saved, there are no other steps you need to take as each signature will be applied automatically when you send an email. You only will need to revisit your signatures if you need to update them with your new contact information.

Adding an Image to Your Signature

Though signatures usually only include text, you can embed a picture, such as the logo of your company, using this simple trick. To add an image, you’ll need sit at your desktop computer and create an email signature with an image, You then can send a message with that signature to an email account that is on your iPhone. When the email is delivered, you can open it on your phone and copy the signature with both the image and the text. With the snippet stored on the clipboard, you now can open the settings as described above and then paste in the signature with the image. Once you save the signature, you can use the next time you send an email
