Any questions or concerned about the student loan application process or the users Sallie Mae online account can be directed to (877) 279-7172.  Sallie Mae offers a variety of repayment options to include Deferred repayment (which allows the borrower to repay later) – Fixed repayment (pay less now BUT more later) – Interest repayment (pay more now and less later).  Sallie Mae also offers a “Career Training Smart” loan option designed for students who attend a non-degree-granting institution in relation to career training (aka electricians school).

• Sallie Mae offers a Loan Repayment Calculator PLUS a College Planning Calculator (these calculators should be used by all students when determing how much loan they can afford)
• All loans offered by Sallie Mae require the borrower to be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident or a Non-U.S. citizen borrower who is attending or has attended a school located in the U.S. applying with a creditworthy cosigner (who must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) and required U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) documentation

• Smart Option Loans (which was founded in 2009 as more students needed money as the cost of college really took off) max out at $99,000
